Design-Build is a type of construction project delivery system that involves the use of only one contractor. Usually the design-builder is the general contractor, but that doesn’t have to be the case. The contractor you deal with could also be the designer of the project like the engineer or the architect. The design-build system is used primarily to decrease the owner’s risk, as well as to save time on the project because the design and construction phase overlaps.
